Likely one of the best hidden gems in Germany. Exceptional staff and location resulted in a restful and rejuvenating stay. The meals were delicious and prepared with local fresh ingredients. The access to the Black Forest is literally steps away; be it hiking or biking. Few suggestions, 1) book a room on the lake side as the road is a bit loud at night and 2) bring a pillow as the ones provided are very German. 10/10 and will return!

Well Well We have been at this most Charming Place we stayed in Suite 72 from 9-10-2023 till 12-10-2023 Its a Coming Home Place To be, Romantic The Room was more then exelent. The Amazing Crew who Welcome us and The Restaurant Employees where outstanding. There is a lot of information about the beautiful " Black Forrest"' We Enjoyed it from the beginning until The End If you are looking for a High Standard and Personal Touch and Spirtual Joy its the place find your own Peace The Kitchen is So good you can taste the Love for food in any Dish The Housekeeping knows how to give the special touch to the room were you stay. As specialy the "Karaf'' With Water and some Healing "Edel Stones" Thank you Again for an most Healing and relaxing time

This hotel is just lovely. 5 minute drive from Freudenstadt, but you feel like you're out in the middle of the forest. Peaceful and quiet, a beautiful pond out back with trails to walk around on. Clean rooms, spacious and modern. The room we had was a Queen size bed with a single mattress, not the usual German style of two small mattresses pushed together. Had some problems staying connected to the WiFi, but this place is all about disconnecting and enjoying the Black Forest anyways. The in house restaurant was fantastic, with some traditional meals as well as some great creations. Service was attentive and prompt, and their drinks were fantastic. I had a Swimming Pool, a Mai Tai, and a Sex on the Beach, and all of them were refreshing and sooo tasty.

Very pleasant hotel. Restaurant is very good. Location is far enough for quietness whilst not being over isolated. Lovely views of the pond and forest from the sauna and spa

The hotel is in a wonderful location nestled next to classical Black Forest scenery and walks. The room we stayed in had a balcony overlooking the lake and was light and comfortable. The pool and sauna were very relaxing. Breakfasts were of a high standard and the food generally good. The reception staff were not particularly helpful and not proactive in suggesting that bookings for dinner or a massage should be done early. As a result we did not have the pleasure of a massage and at dinner we were allocated a table at the back of the breakfast room. Despite the vast array of walks available close by the hotel there was little information (particularly in English) about these opportunities and we were sent to a local information centre in the local town (which was very helpful). Perhaps a hotel resting on its laurels.

Best place for dinner in southwest Germany. The regional food is exceptionally good and tasty. I haven't been to a better place for this kind of typical regional and unpretentious food. I don't know about the Hotel but the views on the little lake and the setting seems quite idyllic and typical for the National Park of the Black Forest.

The location is beautiful and serene with it's own lake. The food is so good.. wow. Breakfast buffet included, this place really makes me happy. The staff are so incredibly nice. Definitely coming back here.

Great location just outside Freudenstadt, in a beautiful setting, on a small lake surrounded by forest. Very nicely appointed, clean, comfortable rooms. Very friendly staff. The hotel went out of their way to make arrangements so we could take our dog with us to breakfast. The restaurant is very good, specialising in locally sourced ingredients and regional dishes with a difference. We would book here again.
